BITBOX lists LINK, Tron organizes airdrop to celebrate

BITBOX, a Singapore-based crypto exchange, announced that it has listed LINK, the new cryptocurrency launched by Japan's LINE Corp. In lieu of the new listing, BITBOX will conduct various airdrops for LINK holders. TRON also announced that an airdrop will be organized to celebrate the occasion.

“We're very pleased that users are now able to trade LINK on BITBOX, which is a major step forward in our plans for creating a token economy that rewards user participation," Takeshi Idezawa, CEO of the Japanese messaging app operator, said in a statement. LINK can be traded with three major digital tokens – Bitcoin [BTC], Ethereum [ETH] and Tether [USDT]. The company also said that the minimum floor price of LINK will be $5 when used to pay trading fees on BITBOX. Throughout this month, BITBOX will conduct a LINK reward event for trades and net deposits depending on the trading pairs. The platform plans to add more events, which will also feature discounts on LINK used to pay trading fees on the exchange.

LINE dApps to support LINK

In addition, LINE intends to add more online and offline channels where users can be rewarded with and can pay with LINK. These channel include LINE’s social, gaming and commerce dApps. For now, the LINK tokens traded or bought from BITBOX can be used as a means of payment or rewards for LINE's dApps such as Wizball, a knowledge sharing platform, and 4CAST, a future prediction service. The company plans to launch more dApps soon, including TAPAS for food reviews, Pasha for product reviews and STEP for location reviews. BITBOX, operated by LINE Tech Plus, was launched on July 16 and has around 30 coins listed on its platform. LINK was launched by LINE Corp in August, with 1 billion tokens issued so far. Out of the total supply, user rewards account for 800 million while the rest is locked up in LINE Tech Plus reserves.
