UNICEF France to accept Bitcoin [BTC], Ethereum [ETH], XRP & other cryptos as donations

UNICEF France recently announced that it now accepts donations in the form cryptos. The organization also mentioned a list of nine cryptocurrencies which can be used to make a donation. The list includes Bitcoin [BTC], Ethereum [ETH], Ripple's XRP, Bitcoin Cash [BCH], EOS [EOS], Stellar Lumens [XLM], Litecoin [LTC], Dash [DASH] and Monero [XMR]. According to UNICEF France, this move will attract a new category of donors and would effectively spread their area of reach for funding. Sébastien Lyon, executive director of UNICEF France, stated, “Cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology for charitable purposes offer a new opportunity to appeal to the generosity of the public and continue to develop our actions with children in our country of intervention.” He further added, “It is an innovation in terms of solidarity and fundraising that we are still few to propose, but which tends to become more democratic.” Donors will also have the option of making ‘free’ donations by mining any of the one cryptocurrencies mentioned by using the UNICEF France electronic wallet. However, this isn’t the first time that UNICEF France is showing its acceptance towards cryptocurrency. In February, the organization launched Game Chaingers - a fundraiser for the Syrian Children’s program. As part of the charity drive, UNICEF appealed to crypto enthusiasts and miners to use the maximum of PC Graphics Cards by mining cryptos on the Ethereum blockchain to generate funds. Simply put, the donors just had to mine cryptocurrencies on the Ethereum blockchain. UNICEF Australia, through Hopepage, is trying to automatically generate funds to protect and save the rights of children. Approximately 1,700 people are currently presenting their CPU processing power to The Hopepage mining page, where they proceed to mine for as long as they continue on the site. When a person is on the Hopepage, the web browser uses his computer's processor to solve cryptocurrency algorithms. The longer a user stays on the page and the more processor power he/she donates, the more algorithms get answered, which earns cryptocurrency. Mining is perfectly safe for users' computer. Coinhive powers the initiative. It offers a JavaScript miner for the Monero Blockchain.
