Cointext wallet facilitates Bitcoin Cash [BCH] transactions via text message for Argentina, Turkey users

CoinText has started offering a new SMS-based Bitcoin Cash wallet service in Turkey and Argentina. The dire economic conditions in these two countries have resulted in a sharp rise in the use of cryptocurrency. “Bitcoin is better money,” said Vin Armani, founder and chief technology officer of CoinText, in an online statement. “Many Turks and Argentinians already understand this due to high inflation. We are excited to provide tools to help them use cryptocurrency.” CoinText allows users to send money to mobile numbers or BCH addresses. It doesn't require internet, apps, accounts or passwords. The CoinText wallet works on all types of mobile phones, including old Nokia flip phones. “If your phone can send and receive SMS messages with your telecom service, you can use CoinText,” according to the official statement. The use of cryptocurrency is rising in Argentina and Turkey due to deteriorating economic conditions. This year, the Argentine peso and Turkish lira fell sharply against the U.S. dollar. Under such circumstances, virtual currencies present an incredible opportunity for people in Argentina and Turkey to quickly and freely conduct transactions. “Before CoinText, you had to download a software wallet or join an exchange to get your first cryptocurrency,” said Armani. “And to on-board your friends, you had to convince them to do the same process. Now you can just text money to their phone.” Users of CoinText can control their wallet using simple SMS commands such as BALANCE to check their balance and RECEIVE to display their wallet address. It allows users to send funds to domestic or foreign mobile phone numbers. It can be done by texting commands such as SEND $1 PHONENUMBER. Transactions will be settled instantly on the Bitcoin Cash [BCH] blockchain after entering a 2FA code, the company added.
